The Magic of Black Clay
My dermatologist says I have “reactive skin.” I think he is trying to tell me to stop coming to see him every few months, but he can’t get rid of me that easily. I don’t like red, irritated skin. My skin doesn’t like the Arizona desert. I am looking for a way we can all live happily together.
So many facial soaps contain parabens, formaldehyde, sodium laurel sulfate, propylene glycol, dioxane, diethanolamine (or DEA), just to name a few. Research shows these chemicals irritate the skin, weaken the immune system, disrupt hormones, and many are considered carcinogenic (read toxic). Is this something you want on your face or the face of your child?
I discovered the Black Clay Facial soap from Osmia Organics when I had the pleasure of meeting founder, Dr. Sarah Villafranco. After listening to her speak, I knew that she was the real deal. She knows what is harmful to our skin and she truly wants to make products that are pure and that work.
This soap is a life changer! You can check it out here.
The black clay soap is made by hand in small batches in Colorado. It contains Australian Black Clay and pure Dead Sea mud. These amazing ingredients draw water into the skin which plumps skin cells while softening any flaky spots. The mud has a mild granular texture to it which allows for a mild exfoliation of your skin.
The soap is vegan and contains organic coconut milk which is gentle but still cleans deeply. It has mango butter and avocado oil which gives it a silky texture. Maybe it is the coconut that makes it silky…..I don’t know, it just feels good! It has a mild scent that is very pleasant, from balsam of Peru, atlas cedar wood and lemon bergamot. It is great for normal or combination skin, perioral dermatitis or eczema.
Oh, and I haven’t seen my dermatologist in over 4 months!
Great post! I love this soap too!
