Anyone who is passionate or knowledgeable about nontoxic skin care would probably agree that Tata Harper is the “Chanel” of nontoxic skin care. She came on the scene in 2007 after her stepfather’s health crisis got her to focus on her own health and skincare practices. When she couldn’t find what she was looking for, she decided to create it herself. If only I had that much ambition!
What she has created is a luxurious skin care line that is free of any synthetic or potentially harmful chemicals. She has truly raised the bar in not only the nontoxic skin care industry, but the entire skin care industry. She works with industry leaders and makes all of her products on her 1,200 acre farm in Vermont. She discovered that the majority of cutting edge technology actually comes from plants and nature. Each ingredient in her products has a very specific purpose to deliver targeted results without adding any fillers or premade bases. Most mainstream companies use synthetic (usually toxic) ingredients to emulsify and preserve their products. She took healthy, nontoxic skin care products up into the luxury market. We stopped being looked at like granola eating tree huggers. Not that there is anything wrong with that!
She uses environmentally sustainable practices in bringing these amazing products to us. In 2011, she took steps to get her organic certification from the Vermont Organic Farmers for her herb, flower, fruit, alfalfa and oat production. She uses recycled packaging and recyclable glass bottles for her products. Her packaging is beautiful. Her company buys renewable energy from the state of Vermont to run the facilities.
She has an Open Lab and Traceability Program, which is ground breaking. By entering the first three digits of the number on the bottom of your Tata Harper Skin care bottle, you can trace its origin in the company’s lab. You’ll learn the day it was handcrafted, and see the name and photo of the employee who batched it. How cool is that?
If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting Tata Harper, you know that she is a natural beauty that embodies what her company stands for. She is the picture of chic elegance with glowing and radiant skin. She wears very little makeup and her skin is a testament to the effectiveness of her products.
Her award winning products are expensive, but they really do deliver results. They all feel and smell amazing. Her philosophy is that you need to set up a program and stick with it. You won’t see results if you switch between brands.
I have attended one of her master classes and learned some great tips. She is a big believer is double cleansing and double masking. During the class I believe we double cleansed and triple masked. My skin felt absolutely amazing afterward, but I would not be able to afford that luxury on a regular basis. I have tried every one of her products except the refreshing cleanser and the new clarifying cleanser. They are made for oily or blemish prone skin and my skin is like the Arizona desert. I can honestly say that I have loved every single one of her products. If I had an unlimited budget, I would buy every one of them and subscribe to her replenishment service. But, since this is the real world, I will tell you the products I use on a regular basis.
Regeneration Cleanser is a daily, gently exfoliating cleanser. I have tried to find a less expensive option, but nothing beats this daily cleanser. The little exfoliating granules you feel are apricot seed powder.
Hydrating Floral Essence is a light weight mist that hydrates your skin and helps your other products work more efficiently. If I could afford the Concentrated Brightening Essence on a daily basis, I would use it instead. I would love to bathe in it!
Restorative Eye Creme is an ultra rich and hydrating creme that helps with fine lines, puffiness and dark shadows. Tata recommends that you apply it and very gently massage the eye area in a circular motion for 10 repetitions to help drain any fluid that accumulates under your skin.
Rejuvenating Serum is a concentrated formula that has biocompatible Hyaluronic Acid and antioxidants that helps relax lines and wrinkles.
Moisturizing Mask I use this as my nighttime moisturizer and just leave it on my skin to combat dryness. I try to put it on at least an hour before I go to bed or I just end up moisturizing my pillow case.
Purifying Cleanser removes all the pollution and environmental buildup on your skin while maintaining its moisture.
Resurfacing Mask a beta-hydroxy mask that delivers an instant glow, minimizes pores and smooths the look of your skin. This mask has won numerous awards.
You cannot go wrong with any of her products and isn’t your skin worth it?
