One Love Organics
I have to be honest. When I received this sponge as a “freebie” in a package of items I ordered, I didn’t think much about it. I literally put it in a drawer with all my travel size skin care items. Yes, I really do have a drawer full of stuff to use only when I travel. I told you I was a junkie.
In doing research on other products and following my instagram feed, I kept coming across this little heart-shaped cleansing sponge. One day the light bulb went off and I remembered my little gift, stuck in a drawer, and decided that maybe it was more than just a loofah.
Well, what a little treasure this turned out to be. It isn’t a loofah at all! This little heart-shaped wonderfulness is made out of 100% pure konjac plant fiber. What kind of plant you ask?
The Konjac Potato or Konnyaku is a perennial plant native to Asia, and can be found growing wild at very high altitudes. A totally natural food source, Konjac is 97% water, rich in minerals and low in calories. It is rich in vitamins (A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C, D, & E), proteins, lipids, fatty acids and natural minerals such as copper, zinc, iron and magnesium. These ingredients help nourish and smooth skin naturally. Highly prized for its health giving properties, the Konjac Sponge was originally created for delicate baby skin. It contains no harmful chemical, so irritation is very rare, even for those with sensitive and dry skin.
Konjac root fibers are slightly alkaline, so the sponge works well to neutralize slightly acidic grime. This helps to break down blackheads, dirt, oil and downy hair and rinses them away, leaving your skin fresh and clean, even without the use of soap.
The One Love Organics Cleansing Sponge comes in 3 types.
The Original Cleansing Sponge is perfect for normal and all skin types.
The Rose Clay Cleansing Sponge contains pink clay for rosacea, sensitive, mature and dry skin
The Bamboo Charcoal Heart Cleansing Sponge contains bamboo charcoal for oily, combination and problematic skin
Dampen the sponge with warm water and it will double in size. You can use it alone or add your favorite cleanser. Rinse thoroughly after each use and hang to dry completely. If used properly, it can last up to 3 months.
So next time you cleanse your face, why not use a sponge that helps your cleanser work better and actually adds nutrients back into your skin?
It really is Beauty for the Heart!
