My March Empties
I tried really hard not to buy any new products in March. I really did! Sadly, I failed.
I did, however, succeed in finishing a few products.
Here are some empties that will be going in to the recycling bin.
Ok, so while I am writing this, my husband just brought me a package from the mailbox. It is from Leahlani Skincare. More to come about that little treasure! I guess April’s “no buy” policy is already broken. Although, technically I bought it in March, so maybe I can still save April!
Anyway, back to my empties…
Acure Clarifying Shampoo and Conditioner. I load up on shampoos and conditioners when Whole Foods and Sprouts have their body product sales. This one is a staple in our house. I switch my shampoo every 2 weeks. It is something I have done since I was in high school. I feel like hair gets stagnant if you use the same products day in and day out. There are some amazing nontoxic shampoos out there but they can get pretty pricey. I like to alternate them with less expensive brands to keep my hair, and that of my 2 girls, looking healthy and clean, without killing my bank account. These keep our long hair feeling clean, manageable and shiny, with plenty of volume. Definite Repurchase!
Avéne Thermal Spring Water. I bought this in July while I was on vacation. My daughter made fun of me for buying a ‘can of water.’ I make a big deal in our house about paying for bottled water, so she thought it was a strange thing for me to buy. Don’t get me started on the evils of bottled water!
I bought this in lieu of my usual Jane Iredale Hydration Mist. I use it to set my makeup, hydrate a face mask or just mist my face whenever I feel like it. It lasted a lot longer than I thought it would, which made it much more economical than the Jane Iredale. Definite Repurchase!
Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water Hydrating Face Mist. This is a hydrating and calming spray that has a lovely fresh scent. I have had it for a while but because I had two facial mists, I am just finishing it. It is a great spray with a pretty good price point. I would repurchase, but there are many other sprays I still want to try.
Per-féKt Lash Perfection Gel Mascara. This is my favorite mascara and has been for quite a while. I have tried many healthy mascaras and this is hands down the best for me. It gives my length and thickness without smudging or clumping. I have been buying the minis because they have just enough to be able to use it up before it gets cakey or flakey 😊, they are cheaper and I feel it is more hygienic. Don’t tell anyone this, but the mini is 7ml and it is $10 vs $28 for full size, which is 13ml. I already have two backups. Definite Repurchase!
Ilia Multi-Stick in Cheek to Cheek. I think this is the first blush I have ever used up completely. I scraped the bottom of the tube of this one. Luckily it was just in time to switch up to a more spring time color. I prefer a cream blush because I have such dry skin and I find the texture on these Ilia sticks is perfect. It goes on so smoothly and blends flawlessly into my skin. I already have my Ilia Multi-stick in a spring shade. Definite Repurchase!
Tata Harper Replenishing Nutrient Complex. Now called Retinoic Nutrient Face Oil. This is a beautiful oil made from rose, jojoba, apricot kernel and olive oils. It smells wonderful and feels great on my skin. However, there are many face oils out there that I have yet to try and with the price of this one, I probably won’t repurchase it for quite a while.
Laboratoires BioRecept Mousse de Peau. I wrote an entire post on this product, so you know I love it. You can read it here. Super creamy foam cleanser that hydrates, yet really cleans my skin. I currently have a back log of facial cleansers, so I will not repurchase right away, but it is a keeper. Definite Repurchase!
Evolvh Ultra Shine Moisture Shampoo. I love this shampoo. I also use the conditioner and love it just as much. I just run out of shampoo before I run out of conditioner. I have a thing about dirty hair, so I tend to use more shampoo than I need to. It cleans my hair really well and leaves it shiny. It doesn’t weigh it down, but also keeps it from looking frizzy. I categorize it as one of the expensive brands, so I keep it in rotation with less expensive brands from Whole Foods. I have found it less expensive at Nature’s Grocer, but they keep it way up high on a shelf in the corner. I already have a backup bottle. Definite Repurchase!
So, I have some more empties from March that I didn’t put in the photo. I will post my thoughts on them later in the week. I didn’t adhere to my “no buy” in March, but I definitely bought less and am happy that I was able to use up some products!
Exactly what I was hoping! Thanks

Nice! I always buy Evolvh products on Dermstore too, during a sale 😁 I hope you enjoy it! I find that it gives me soft and silky hair, with a light hold.
