Getting My Vitamins with One Love Organics

I have  professed my love of the One Love Organics Vitamin C Body Polish.  If you missed it, you can check out my entire review here.   I just finished my first bottle of Vitamin B Enzyme Oil Cleanser + Makeup Remover and the love fest continues!  This oil cleanser is everything I want in a face cleanser and so much more.   Whether I am in a hurry and just want a quick makeup remover and face wash or I am having a self-care moment and indulging in a skin care ritual, this cleansing oil checks all the boxes for me.

Some days I just want to quickly remove my makeup and wash the grime of the day away and this is the product I grab.  This delicious cleanser contains a special Vitamin B complex that helps detoxify and tone my skin.  The fruit enzyme, papain, helps exfoliate and remove all traces of makeup, dirt and oil that have accumulated throughout the day.  The pumpkin oil, which is rich in antioxidants and fatty acids, helps keep my skin radiant while Vitamin E helps protect against environmental damage.

I have used many oil cleansers to remove makeup or as the first step in a double cleanse ritual.  For me, OLO has created the perfect product.  When I use a cleansing oil, I want it to remove my makeup completely and this does it for me.  Many oil cleansers just don’t rinse clean enough for me. This breaks up all the oils in my makeup and rinses completely clean.  I don’t end up with those raccoon eyes when I finish that require multiple swipes of a cloth to remove.   No tugging of the delicate eye area required!  It contains sunflower oil which helps my skin retain its moisture, so I am left with a super clean face that doesn’t feel dry or tight.

On those nights when I want a more involved skin care ritual, I like to clean my face with the Vitamin B Enzyme Cleansing Oil first.  Once all the makeup is removed, I can enjoy  the amazing oils and botanicals found in the many cleansers and cleansing balms I have so I can indulge in a double cleanse.  My skin is clean and ready to absorb my serums and face oils.

A few weeks ago, I had a hydrafacial.  A hydrafacial uses patented technology to cleanse, extract and hydrate your skin.  Afterward, my esthetician was so excited to show me the “dirty water canister” that held what was removed from my face.  After a little prodding, I agreed to look at it with her.  Did I really NEED to see it?  She was so excited to show me that I couldn’t refuse her.  She was so surprised at what she found.  She said the water is usually really dirty (black) and there are a lot of things floating in it.  Really disgusting right?  My water was not dirty and only had dead skin floating in it!  She said she had never seen water that clean before!  She couldn’t believe it.  I told her she hasn’t treated anyone who uses the most luxurious and effective green beauty products before!

If you have used any of the One Love Organics products, you know about that delicious pineapple scent.  It is a fun and enticing scent made of proprietary natural ingredients.  You can read about their certification on my previous body scrub post here.

So, if you are like me and want your skin to feel super clean AND well hydrated, try the One Love Organics Vitamin B Enzyme Cleanser + Makeup Remover!

March Madness

My March Empties

I tried really hard not to buy any new products in March.  I really did!  Sadly, I failed.

I did, however, succeed in finishing a few products.

Here are some empties that will be going in to the recycling bin.

Ok, so while I am writing this, my husband just brought me a package from the mailbox.  It is from Leahlani Skincare.  More to come about that little treasure!  I guess April’s “no buy” policy is already broken.  Although, technically I bought it in March, so maybe I can still save April!

Anyway, back to my empties…

Acure Clarifying Shampoo and Conditioner.  I load up on shampoos and conditioners when Whole Foods and Sprouts have their body product sales. This one is a staple in our house.  I switch my shampoo every 2 weeks.  It is something I have done since I was in high school.  I feel like hair gets stagnant if you use the same products day in and day out.  There are some amazing nontoxic shampoos out there but they can get pretty pricey.  I like to alternate them with less expensive brands to keep my hair, and that of my 2 girls, looking healthy and clean, without killing my bank account.  These keep our long hair feeling clean, manageable and shiny, with plenty of volume.  Definite Repurchase!

Avéne Thermal Spring Water.  I bought this in July while I was on vacation.  My daughter made fun of me for buying a ‘can of water.’  I make a big deal in our house about paying for bottled water, so she thought it was a strange thing for me to buy.  Don’t get me started on the evils of bottled water!

I bought this in lieu of my usual Jane Iredale Hydration Mist.  I use it to set my makeup, hydrate a face mask or just mist my face whenever I feel like it.  It lasted a lot longer than I thought it would, which made it much more economical than the Jane Iredale.  Definite Repurchase!

Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water Hydrating Face Mist.  This is a hydrating and calming spray that has a lovely fresh scent.  I have had it for a while but because I had two facial mists, I am just finishing it.  It is a great spray with a pretty good price point.  I would repurchase, but there are many other sprays I still want to try.

Per-féKt Lash Perfection Gel Mascara.  This is my favorite mascara and has been for quite a while.  I have tried many healthy mascaras and this is hands down the best for me.  It gives my length and thickness without smudging or clumping.  I have been buying the minis because they have just enough to be able to use it up before it gets cakey or flakey 😊, they are cheaper and I feel it is more hygienic.  Don’t tell anyone this, but the mini is 7ml and it is $10 vs $28 for full size, which is 13ml.  I already have two backups. Definite Repurchase!

Ilia Multi-Stick in Cheek to Cheek.  I think this is the first blush I have ever used up completely.  I scraped the bottom of the tube of this one.  Luckily it was just in time to switch up to a more spring time color.  I prefer a cream blush because I have such dry skin and I find the texture on these Ilia sticks is perfect.  It goes on so smoothly and blends flawlessly into my skin.  I already have my Ilia Multi-stick in a spring shade.  Definite Repurchase!

Tata Harper Replenishing Nutrient Complex.  Now called Retinoic Nutrient Face Oil.  This is a beautiful oil made from rose,  jojoba, apricot kernel and olive oils.  It smells wonderful and feels great on my skin.  However, there are many face oils out there that I have yet to try and with the price of this one, I probably won’t repurchase it for quite a while.

Laboratoires BioRecept Mousse de Peau. I wrote an entire post on this product, so you know I love it.  You can read it here.  Super creamy foam cleanser that hydrates, yet really cleans my skin.  I currently have a back log of facial cleansers, so I will not repurchase right away, but it is a keeper.  Definite Repurchase!

Evolvh Ultra Shine Moisture Shampoo.  I love this shampoo.  I also use the conditioner and love it just as much.  I just run out of shampoo before I run out of conditioner.  I have a thing about dirty hair, so I tend to use more shampoo than I need to.  It cleans my hair really well and leaves it shiny.  It doesn’t weigh it down, but also keeps it from looking frizzy.  I categorize it as one of the expensive brands, so I keep it in rotation with less expensive brands from Whole Foods.  I have found it less expensive at Nature’s Grocer, but they keep it way up high on a shelf in the corner.  I already have a backup bottle.  Definite Repurchase!

So, I have some more empties from March that I didn’t put in the photo.  I will post my thoughts on them later in the week.  I didn’t adhere to my “no buy” in March, but I definitely bought less and am happy that I was able to use up some products!

French Spa Experience at Home

Patyka Biokaliftin

Last night I was washing my face and thinking about a million different things.  I kept rubbing my cleanser…thinking, stressing…when suddenly I realized, wow…this cleanser is so creamy!  The more I rubbed, the creamier it became.  It felt so good on my face that I forgot about everything else.  How great is that?
